SIS Networking Event
We’re thrilled to share the success of our networking event at the start of August. The afternoon was full of new connections, engaging activities, and insightful discussions among women at various stages of their STEM careers.

A special thanks to our guest panelists — Ebun Lufadeju, Lindsay Ezeagu MBCS, Tofunmi Adeyemi and Dr. Leslie Boateng Adu for making this event a memorable one.
Thank you to everyone who joined us on the day and contributed to the engaging conversations and fun activities. We are looking forward to more events to support and uplift women in STEM!

She is STEM Takes Ghana

In February 2024, our founder Dione was a guest speaker at the inspiring 'Time with Visionary Optometrists' programme hosted by Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi (KNUST) in Ghana last month.
With over 220 enthusiastic students and faculty in attendance, Dione had the privilege to delve into her Optometry and pre-reg journey as well as explore the similarities and differences between practicing Optometry in the UK versus Ghana. Additionally, the impactful progress of She Is STEM (SIS) and its transformative journey since creating the initiative three years ago was also discussed.

SIS x Opportunity Chats Podcast
Summer 2023 She is STEM UK had the pleasure of featuring on the radio show 'Opportunity Chats', hosted by the Vice President of Birmingham City University SU, Nathan Keseka.

Within these episodes, Dione, Delicia and Ebun discuss how She is STEM started, their personal experiences of being black women in STEM and how they are currently navigating university, full time work and networking to build their community.
